SiteFX
Twelve production-grade website effects for agencies and studios, made in Sofia. The site is its own demo: everything it sells runs live on the page, on one runtime of 8.1 KB.
01 — The brief
Make the web feel expensive
A visitor decides in under a second whether a business looks like the real thing, and motion, scale and light carry that verdict before anyone reads a word. SiteFX packages that second for agencies: kinetic type, HUDs, code rain, particle fields, lock-on cursors and scroll scenes that started life on client sites in Sofia, rebuilt as units any team can drop into a build with one HTML attribute. The site had to prove it, and sell motion using nothing but the product itself.
02 — The approach
The product is the page
SiteFX is a horizontal track of ten scenes, from 00 Boot to 09 Makers, that you drive by scrolling or by grabbing the page and throwing it. A full HUD frames every screen: a recording timecode, a Sofia clock, FPS, a live count of running effects and the runtime narrating its own events, while the scrollbar becomes a timeline of scenes. The headline decodes through “expensive”, “alive” and “cinematic” over a particle accelerator, where the pointer is a magnet, a click a shockwave, and holding down charges a collision.
The rack presents the twelve units like hardware, each with its ID, what it needs, its weight in kilobytes and an LED wired to the runtime. Switch one off and it tears down completely, then comes back clean. The Console is a live read of every running instance, and turning motion off settles the whole page into a still version. The brand is signal on ink: ink, bone and one signal green across three themes that meet AA contrast, Science Gothic stretched along its width and weight axes, Geist Mono for the readouts, and a logo that is the lock-on bracket closing on “FX”.
Underneath it is a real product with plain answers: a vanilla JavaScript runtime with no dependencies in the core, effects that load on demand and respect reduced motion, and clear pricing, from a free live demo of every effect to single effects, yearly licences, made-to-order site skins and white-label days picked on a calendar.
